Don't know about rain, coming from a part of Britain that last year was
technically a desert (<11" rain/year), but I have noticed that it is
_change_ of weather that seems to lead to quiet surgeries.
Thus the first really cold snap or the first blisteringly hot day tends
to be quiet for a few days then patient accentuation occurs.
