depends on exactly *how* you're connected.. and that doesn't seem very
clear at the moment.
The *ideal* would be to have an NHSnet email and NHSnet+Internet
browsing facility available on your own desktop computer, with *no
possibility of this being used to access your confidential patient
information* - but - able to run Links.
I don't think this is on offer - and there is still a lot of negociation
to be done on technicalities for different systems and basic
confidentiality issues.
The financing still seems to be slightly unclear. Who benefits - and who
pays?
>Will it affect my e mail?
Only if you are sending it on the NHS ISP!
Don't think Demon will even notice!
The problem with the email is the interface between the NHSnet (X400)
and Internet (STMP). Maybe not completely.. there *are* problems with
transfering attachments between different X400 addresses.. and I don't
understand it either!
>Will I need to get more hardware/software at home?
Pass - shouldn't think you'd need more hardware.. and if you can access
your practice computer from home, I can't see why you should need more
software.
If I were you, I'd keep my home email separate from the practice
anyway... ;_<
>Will I still be able to access the clinical system from home?
Shouldn't be any change - just extra facilities! - I think....
>Will you all still be there?
*I'm* not intending to jump off a cliff.. whatever the temptation! Can't
answer for anyone else
