This area is not well covered in Read Codes in any version as far as I
can see... There is "o/e dead" which perhaps covers the examination,
"death certification" which covers the certification process, "place of
death", and "cause of death".
Our practice tends to record fact of death using the place of death
codes, "Patient died at home", "Patient died in hospital" etc.
We also record "Registration ghost - deceased" as soon as we know of a
death, so that screening invitations etc are automatically stopped.
