Standard policy here in Weybridge with lots of overseas visitors is to charge
them all and issue receipts, even for those from countries with a reciprocal
arrangement, as they can be reimbursed by their own healthcare system on
return. AS for the lung cancer, the regs are unequivocal - can't treat on the
NHS for any illness which was diagnosed prior to arrival in UK.
Incidentally, I was told by our midwife that a former patient (English), now
resident in the Gulf, coming back to have her 1st baby here, but not to live
here would have to be treated by the hospital as a PP.
