<<>Why is it legal to sell software that kills PCs - I will never

because:
1. In the rush to get to market before the other guy they don't debug
properly, they don't do decent trials and basically they shove it out once
it's "good enough. Similar to the "ah sure it'll do" philosophy prevalent
in the Emerald Isle---is there a connection?
2. We are all shmucks for buying the stuff knowing what is likely to
happen. I have W95 and Office 97 but don't use them much because 3.1 and
Office 4.2 does all I need for now. If I need the other stuff I shall
probably stick in a 2nd drive and run off that when I want the extra
facilities. Ergo, don't buy the latest just because it is the latest,
wait for a few thousand idiots to start finding the problems first.
3. Why oh why are we, who pride ourselves on being intelligent, critical,
IT-literate and well aware of Uncle Bill's megalomania, we are still
buying his stuff? I have Xenix sitting on the floor, bot and paid for. I
could get Linux free if I could be bothered. I would prob have bot OS/2 a
few years ago if I had known a bit more and if I spend much more time on
computers than I do now i shall have to move out of Wintel because the
crashes are such a pain and the lockups are even worse. Sure I know that a
few of you use RISC machines and UNIX and stuff but I bet that most of on
this list use Intel processors or equivalent and some version of Windows.
ANyone want to correct me?
