Talks with a regional office contact indicate that PCGs will have
immense strategic power, if they are prepared to use it. The problem
is that are on the whole we are pretty decent folk and not used
bashing someone with a 'big stick'.
Basically if HAs are acting as controllers and not facillitators,
then complain to your regional office. PCGs are meant to progress up
the commissioning ladder. So, if you say to your HA we want to be at
level three in three years, they have to come up with some pretty
damn good reasons why you can't get there. And if they say sure and
don't deliver, then they have to come up with some pretty damn good
reasons why *they* failed.
Perhaps there is a light at the end of the tunnel if we are prepared
to insist on the 'torches' being provided to get us round the odd
bend !
