We've all been concerned by the way the government feels it can
unilaterally change the terms of reference of public service review
bodies - doctors & dentists, nurses, teachers - to demand a
consideration of the governments public spending plans and planned rate
of inflation
Some years ago - I think when the review body refused to report on an
imposed rise of 1.5% - the Top Peoples' Review Body (and the pay
settlement.. ) was not affected - their terms of reference didn't allow
it.
Now, I know we've had a change of government, even if their attitude
towards public service seems to be identical ;-<< - but does anyone know
what, if anything, is happening about the Top Peoples' Review Body?
