..... generations of doctors since at least the turn of the century
have seen walk in patients in A&E and coped without phoning GPs for
information from notes, and ...... generations of GPs have seen TRs
and coped without the notes and without contacting pts GPs 99.99% of
the time.
What is the case for spending a fortune to appease the lawyers and
the technophiles while eroding pt. confidentiality?
Most co-ops are short of funds, any extra expenses will be funded by
.... us. Not heard any case to suggest benefit for pt or cost benefit
for Dr. Is there one?
BTW while I'm arguing the toss about GP records, I have wanted the
results of recent (that 48 hours) hospital tests. Usually available
by phone, and current written or electronic records wouldn't help!
