You're lucky that you had 2 GP's at your independant review ;-). We only had
one at ours; the other was unable to attend. We reluctantly accepted this, as
the thought of rescheduling the whole affair was unbearable.The GP present had
obviously not read around the case and at one stage, exposed his ignorance of
The Red Book quite spectacularly.
The complaint should have been thrown out at the start but the HA in their
desire to bend over backwards and be seen to be absolutely fair, allowed it to
proceed. This disgraceful waste of NHS money estimated at UKP3000+ involving
us in locums, multiple letters to MDU and disrupting the smooth running of the
practice, ended in the production of a huge document, photocopied for each
partner, which recommended we apologise to the third party although we had not
been found in breach of our ToS.
What a farcical waste of time:-((. Maybe the old adversarial system was
better?
