Differ.
The board is elected and is responsible to the shareholders.
Possibly also to the stakeholders.
Practices which do not contain a board member, or perhaps a head of
a task group (eg the IT cell; clinical governance etc groups) will
feel unrepresented. The clearly best course for them is to merge
with one or more practices which do have such a member.
Locally such mergers have been accomplished by marriage between
partners in different practices, and in a variety of other ways.
