>Can anyone tell me what the GP Board
> Members are supposed to represent?
The board is *not* about representation. It is about collecting data,
analysing data and making *hard* rationing decisions, looking to raise
standards by taking clinical governance forward, contributing to the Health
Improvement programe, developing transparent open processes so that
practices without a board member feel included and not disadvantaged.
What you have to ask yourselves is do you *trust* the gps that will be on
your board? They are prepared to do all the above without knowing the time
committment or the pay - They are either martyrs, fools , self absorbed
politicos, bored with gereal practice or genuinely interested in the wider
vision that is the PCG - You have to make your decision.
Did your board members (those that have elected them) write a manifesto?
My pcg (http://www.woodspring.com/) has insisted that those who stand write
one. I will post them on the pcg website. How we are running our election
can be found in the html minutes in the library section of the website
Good luck everyone, the pcg shit is nearing the fan
