I hate it when records go missing - feel very frustrated.
However, since becoming *paperless* 30 months ago,
all records now on computer, and never lost. ( Theoretically
could be lost if computer down, hard disk crashes, etc
but with verified back up tape I hope this would not be a
permanent loss.)
Actually, on the few occasions when I don't have records
available, (eg when seeing my own patients at our co-op)
I quite enjoy not having the records. Deal with the presenting
problem only, ask relevant history only, listen - instead of
peering at the screen, and am never asked to issue repeat
prescriptions or deal with the *while I'm here* problems.
