This is a bummer. I don't think I have ever seen a solution which relies on
the PSTN which is even remotely affordable when viewed in the cold light of
day. Short of hoping for someone to lay cable, or for for BT to have a fit
and drop their prices 3000%, there isn't an easy way out that I know of.
It must be one of the most irritating problems I know of in GP.
