Adrian Midgeley, Andrew Herd and a few others will tell you that there WAS a
successful precedent to this list - the Pry Marie Care BBS system that I ran
very successfully 1989 - 1995 before a beta version of Windows '95 and the
growth of mailing lists saw it off. In its prime, PMC was a very active
discussion board. The board still runs, but is primarily used as a closed area
by the GMSC. Shame that BBS systems faded from view - they still offer the
best repository for closed file librariesand e-mail in ny view, although local
access is a problem.
