Perhaps we will set up some Services in the PCG.
They will involve GPs, nurse/technicians, Specialists and clerks.
The blood pressure monitoring service for instance.
THese services could very reasonably aim to run at times maximally
convenient to the patients. As well as being open to register BPs
with rapid walk-through appointments they might extend to a
home/on-line BP recording service, which sensible employers wuld
consider a boon.
Match the conveninet capture of data with a rules-based system for
authorising repeat prescriptions, and the number of review
appointments will be reduced.
Therefore it will be easier for somebody who is or believes he is
(newly) ill to get to see their GP.
This needs a set of IT services running over the PCG network, to
support the human services.
Now does that sound so silly?
