Does fraud matter enough to sell out irrevocably on medical privacy? Or is medical privacy WORTH £XMILLION/BILLION a year?
Stamping out fraud is put forward by Govnmt in both UK and US for allowing untramelled and ill(or un-) controlled access by "officials" to the medical record, Is it worth a fight to prevent us turning from medical professionals into medical technicians, and part-time Govnmt informers??? Bar codes , NHS no, DOB and post code together, as Ross has frequently reminded us can all be used (witha modicum of effort) to IDENTIFY the patient.
Are you actively concerned or passively acceptant?
How does it look from your side of the desk??? Does the profession care or not?
As ever, Fleur Fisher (once upon a time a GP!--pre-history)
