isn't this another problem - the way different practices - or even
different individuals!;->> - code information?
In this example, Adrian is using the code "Meningitis" to include both
the diseaes and the differential diagnosis; how often have you
confidently diagnoses a myocardial infarct, only to have the discharge
summary "chest pain, MI excluded"?
This doesn't (IMHO) matter too much *if* your searchable data are only
being acccessed in the practice - where, presumably, you know what you
are (and were!) doing: what happens when you try to collect health
information from more than one practice?
