Memory chip gone bad?? I/O or bios dying? How old is the machine?
Try checking all the leads and RAM are properly seated. Heating/cooling cycles can make them work loose over time. This might solve
your problem. If not then you could have a serious hardware problem

It's getting worse.........
First of all I couldn't get Com Port2 to work, then Word started crashing if
I cut and paste, now I've lost my CD-ROM and CD-RW drives.....
I've run Norton Antivirus and Dr Sol's with no infestation found. Looks
like it's format c and then drive image from the last hard drive back up.
Unless anyone's got any _useful_ ideas?
TIA
Mark
