Can a German-speaking member of the group help a little with the
deciphering of a German cardiologist's notes on a patient with atrial
fibrillation? The pt, who is to see a British cardiologist who has no
German (it is believed), asked a good friend of mine who is a fluent in
non-medical German to translate the doctor's letter. The friend asked me
about a word which defeats her and her dictionary, and also defeats my own
German mother-in-law and her dictionary. I have also consulted a big
5-language medical dictionary without success.
The chief stumbling block is the word "Vitien" in the sentence:
"Wesentliche Viitien oder eine Starkere Vergrosserung det Vorhofe sind
nicht zu erkennen.[umlauts omitted]" We can find no trace of "Vitien"
anywhere. ? a misprint?
I am also a little at a loss for the mot juste for 'Endteilung' and
'Endteilbewegung' used in description of ECG/exercise ECGs. Literally the
'endpiece' and 'endpiece movement' but the correct cardiology-speak eludes me.
Finally, am I correct that "RSB" is German for RBBB (right bundle-branch
block?)
Thanks in advance to Andreas or anyone else who can help.
