Is sex a recreation, or could it ever be classified as a need?
Some other possible *recreational* drugs:
methadone for heroin addicts
diazepam for alcoholics
ritalin for adult ADHD sufferers
fluoxetine for the unhappy (as opposed to depressive illness)
ventolin for smoking asthmatics
nicotine inhalator for smokers
sun block
diazepam for flying
None of them are essential for life. But they all ease suffering.
So, if someone cannot get an erection - surely that must cause deep
suffering - then why classify relieving that suffering as recreational?
Yes, I know, you wanted positive and perfect solutions - sorry, there
aren't any, and there are sufficient diversity of people to ensure there
never will be an answer with which we all agree.
I imagine it takes courage to tell your GP you are impotent - no?
And we are suggesting referring the patient to the hospital - where not
only the consultant will find out, but his secretary, nurse and maybe
his junior staff .. one sure way to keep the patient quiet.
So he goes on suffering in silence ... his self-opinion deteriorates
over time...depression sets in ... but that's not a taboo subject any
more so he can tell his doctor that... and he gets prozac ...no chance
now of an erection ... his wife's off with a neighbour now anyway...he
can't work like he used to from side effects of his antidepressants ...
so he's on the sick ...his wife is depressed too now, well, it was good
to begin with, if he couldn't manage she didn't have to invent a
headache, but a woman does like sex from time to time, and years without
- bleak prospect ... neighbour moved away and she can't communicate with
husband like she used to ... what's the matter with her, there was a
time she could give him erections just by winking ... doesn't he love
her anymore? ... she becomes miserable, no depressed, prozac again...and
losec because of the indigestion prozac gives her....on loads of
antibiotics now too, to get rid of that problem the neighbour left her
with ... resistance? she doesn't much care she is so sore, sore in mind
as well ....
... all for the want of an erection?
