Bollox!
Most of the time they bring their home environment to the surgery!
When I visit (which usually makes me a legend in the area for a while
and the local paper writes about it), I have to hold my breath, keep my
hands in pockets and generally avoid coming in contact with unspeakables.
The sentiment you describe might be fine if you paid me the going rate.
My mate, Charles Levinson, who runs 'DoctorCall' in central London
charges ukp65 for a home visit, more at night.
