Another concept that's useful to use is viewing the process of becoming a
skilled GP as traversing various stages-lets face it the GPReg must have that
as a goal. The first stage being unconscious incompetence, the next conscious
incompetence there are a couple more stages and probably more until the end
'product'. It's useful to have mutual input at reaching the final goal-how you
do that is up to the GPReg and the trainer.At the beginning there has to be a
tad more input from the trainer as the GP Reg won't realise much of the
enormity of what he doesn't know There are other goals as well now ie
summative assessment - but that is minimum competence isn't it???????????
