You're not alone.

Looked these up in Chambers, Britannica and Encarta. Couldn't find them.
Perhaps the most meaningful communication in your post?

No wonder you find general practice so soul destroying.

Cr8p. We are the most successful species on the planet. As a species
we've solved every problem thrown at us for those 2 million years. We've
colonised land and sea, and ventured into air and space. We live on this
planet from Equator to Pole. We haven't solved every problem because
surprise surprise we're not omnipotent. I don't think mankind will ever
solve every problem. However we are the only species that currently has
any chance of outliving the planet. In any case, what gives you the right
to condemn so lightly the efforts and triumphs of all those who preceeded us.
Don't you find any truth in the Gettysburg address?

You are too wise to be that brainless and false innocence don't suit. Why
bother communicating if you don't want to reach out to other people? All
communication is life altering, whether the outcome is predictable or not
(I wouldn't hold you responsible if I had a heart attack reading your posts).

But you believe that life has its own momentum and purpose. Both of which
we know nothing about.
What a privilege to witness its unfolding, what an awesome responsibility
to shape the destiny, however unwittingly, of a million unborn children.
I know, I know, sentimental tosh ;-)
Pessimistic but refusing to yield.
