I find my Palm Pilot great for this. It comes with an expense section which
exports to Excel and has four built in spreadsheet templates, but it is
possible to design your own. I also use a shareware spreadsheet on the
Pilot which again can be linked to Excel although it cannot replicate all
the fancy bits Excel is capable of and you need to watch memory a bit more
carefully. I only have 1meg on mine but it manages 600 addresses, my diary,
spreadsheets, databases, and I have used it to collect e-mail with my
mobile phone when on holiday. Bit expensive browsing the web on the mobile
though. The web browser uses Berkeley California as a proxy server which
then reduces any images to a very small size by removing colour and
changing the size to a thumbnail to display on the Pilot screen. This is
necessary as the modem is only 14K and the mobile is 9600 of course.
