This sounds like medical myth to me. I cant imagine anyone would fail on
lack of this knowledge - I envisage two possible situations that
occurred here
1. v good candidate, covered lots of clinical stuff and doing v well and
the question was then asked to see how broad a knowledge they had - this
would be a distinction type candidate
2. v bad candidate who couldnt answer any questions and the examiners
were trying to help them by finding something they might know the answer
to.
If the cost of a wheelchair is the only gap in your knowledge then relax
and when you go the exam - enjoy it.
anyway - I think its hard to get anything half decent for under ukp300 -
and they go up to a couple of thousand (and more).
