Windows CE machines seem to be rather slow, but do have file
compatibility with PC Excel (and Mac Excel AFAIK)
I have a Phillips Velo 1 which I am playing with for a colleague.
The stylus is a good replacement for the mouse, but that seems to be
all it does, I find the keyboard very small for typing on, about the
same size as the Psions.
Its connection to the PC seems to be very well sorted, and the
integral modem (alas only for US phones) is an obvious good idea.
For diary and jotting notes I prefer my Palm Pilot, for serious long
typing I prefer the old Z88, but its spreadsheet is not up to Excel
standards. If you were willing to use a database rather than a
spreadsheet then a Palm Pilot with PilotForms on it and the PC,
running to either Access or Excel would fit the bill, but need
setting up by someone.
