The problem is that the goal posts of nurse training are moving ever upward
- one of my colleagues is at present doing a masters degree. The
expectations of salary and responsibility are high. The issue is where does
nursing end and doctoring begin? It's the nursing academics that have
pushed for this not the nurses themselves.

Yes they are :-) This will not solve the issue of nurse recruitment because
it gives title and salary to a limited number of specialists without
addressing the poor income of the majority. Oh what a lovely mess! :-(
