This site is a must before you depart with any sponds (you may actually
need some decent curency to buy, I don't think anybody takes sponds
anymore).
On the subject of digital cameras in general, this is my advice:
Don't bother. Reasons:
1. Why do you need one? (apart from the fact that you *think* you need
one!)
2. Any half decent 35mm will produce far better quality phots (unless
you buy a 'pro' digcam for 1000s of sponds)
3. You'll pull your hair out when the battery runs out every few
frames
4. Only those seriously and professionally involved in web site
development should consider one (then again, the temptation to put mega
Kb phots of tiny people in a mountain landscape is so great!)
5. Holding the print in your hand has a certain appeal (pipe smokers
will understand this and equate it with striking the match to light up)
6. You can always scan prints if and when you absolutely, definitely,
no 2 ways about it have to
Second half of the advice: forget about the digcam and go get some sex
;-)
