"When you clip your nails, do you file them, or do you throw the
little pieces away?"
More constructively, when I had a 'funny nail' I visited a local
chiropodist, who did a splendid job of supplying me with a set of
acrapings, to pass on to my GP, who then sent them off for testing.
The worst part was that the wretched drug was prescribed (Lamasil,
or something like that) took away my sense of taste, and I had a
miserable few months, right across Christmas, unable to tell what i
was eating. But as a side effect, I did lose a few pounds!
