Have received a large glossy brochure regarding Weston Park Hospital
(a regional cancer hospital) merging with Royal Hallamshire Hosiptal
in Sheffield. They are literally next door to each other.
The apparent main reason for the merger is to save management costs.
The total saving is estimated at £270,000 p.a. No other financial
figures are given.
Is this crazy or what?
I am going to suggest that they sack the entire exec and non-exec
members and start anew. Maybe, just maybe, someone with 'vision' will
get in:-(
Of course this is a consultation exercise, so the decision will
already been made:-(
