I had similar experience with my floppy drive. I would be sitting in my
consulting room and it looked as if someone was trying to access my floppy
drive. A colleague sorted the problem - it was "fast find" - a utility in
control panel which checks what is on your computer and keeps a log so that
it can find quickly what files you are looking for - could this be what is
causing your problem? It is quite simple to change it if you go into the
programme.
