I put to the members of my arguably constituted IT task group th
question "How much money are we considering, to do the job we should".
My initial guesstimate is £1.2 million, for the first three years, for
Exeter PCG. THat is not spread evenly over three years, unles we
decided to do odd things like build a WAN but not put services on it
for a year or so.
THe pharmacist present pointed out that I hadn't thought about
connecting all the pharmacies, justifying her modest (and so far
undecided) stipend thereby, and bid £2M
Our nurse rep was persuaded afterward, privately, to mutter £2.4M
The HA droid simply refused to answer, despite being baited with my
tacit assumption that nobody would come to such a meeting without first
thinking about the task, and making a rough estimate of what should be
done and what that would cost to do it right.
Nobody else would answer. Odd that. THey wouldn't say it was right,
wrong or anything. Just that NHS Net was a working solution.
Ho hum. My diary for the PCG IT cell is on my website, at pcgit.htm
Anyone else exposing their ignorance thus?
And any bids for more or less than the range £1.2M to £2.4M per PCG for
primary care IT?
THe job opening is for chief officer of Exeter PCG.
Any multi-fund deputy managers want a step up?
