our partnership agreement (>10yrs old now) stipulates that we have to
have locum insurance and i signed the damn thing only to find out 6 yrs
later that i/m not covered for my spiritual release: rock-climbing
did find a policy to cover this life threatening activity ( an extra
premium of UKP380 pa); but considering i was only getting out four times
/yr was making this a very expensive pastime
Boo Hoo, squish squish
had to give it up, no more climbing (still have fond menories of being
winched off the east face of tryfan last winter though.....)

Why?
I had 3 months off with ill-health in 1990-1 and took out locum
insurance
after the event, no problem; they excluded the illness for a
couple of years but everything else covered.
Costs about 120UKP annually from MIA (not an advert).
