I agree entirely on your preference for the Islay malts and here is an
excerpt from Aeneas Macdonald's "Rhymed Guide to the Whiskies of
Scotland" to remember them with:
Name we first the brands that rule in
Islay in the Western seas;
Bruichladdich, Lagavulin,
Bunnahabhainn and Laphroaig.
Once I (lucky fellow!) fell in
With a man who had Port Ellen!
Though, indeed, as good as these
Is Bowmore or Caol Ila,
