OK. Why should the trigger point for funding GP locums for sickness be
2700/GP? Is this the point at which you become really exhausted and deserve
help. Why is there a trigger point anyway? If a GP is off sick, they and their
practice shouldn't be put under more stress by worrying about whether their
ill health will attract inadequate funding for a locum in their absence. The
maximum locum allowance per week ( if you qualify) is £464.80 - somewhat
inadequate for a full-time locum. You say, buy your own locum insurance to
bridge the gap - do Consultants do that? Why should we?
