It's a long time since I sampled the more peaty malts but I personally
wouldn't have thought Glenfiddich anywhere near virtually Talisker! <G>
The former was I seem to remember the first malt whisky to appear behind
English pub bars way back in the late 60s early 70s. At the time it
seemed like nectar but following many years dedication to refining the
palette it now seems somewhat thin and characterless. My personal
favourite single malt is The Macmillan, known amongst its advocates as
The Malt, but alas I cannot afford it these days. Enough of my musings!
In keeping with the spirit of virtuality may I suggest you visit The
Scotch Malt Whisky Society at http://www.smws.co.uk/
