We've never had IOS payements for flu - but, like most people, order in
bulk and reclaim under the self-administered drugs regulations.
One of the problems with IOS for flu, is that it does *not* increase the
total pool - merely redistibutes part of it to parts of the country
where the HA is prepared to bend the rules.. to the detriment of GPs in
other areas: if IOS applied throughout the country, we'd all be *forced*
to do it (at no extra expense to the Treasury..) simply to prevent a
*loss* of income - as we were with minor surgery, CHS and a lot of
contraception... ;-<<<
I've got a problem with the new directives on over 75 flu vacination.
I'm in a Commissioning Pilot - which means we already have a cash-
limited prescribing budget.
I haven't seen any information on additional funding..
Anyone know anything?
