Taking information from the various lists I posted to originally, we
seem to have the following information:-
1. All GPs in Bradford received copies on 19.8.98 via the HA email(not
via normal channels)
2. The LMC secretary in Aldershot had received a copy from the GMC
3. Other GPs in Aldershot have not received copies
4. GPs in Lambeth, Southwark and Lewisham HA have not received HSC139
5. I get the impression that neither Adrian (Devon) or Ahmed(in
Brighton) have received a copy through the normal channels.
6. I can add that, on 21.8.98, I had not received a copy (Bedfordshire)
7. No-one has said they *did* receive a copy in the usual way.
It also looks as though HAs have not been sent spare copies for
distribution, and I note one comment that HAs are not responsible for
distributing HSCs.
Bit more information - it has *finally* appeared on the NHS web! ;->>
reminder - this came out *for action by General Medical Practitioners*
on 13.8.98...
So, the question arises, who *is* responsible for distributing HSCs to
the people on their distribution lists?
Is this the *only* example of an apparent complete breakdown of the
system?
And finally, I heard about this one from GP-UK and BHIA: I would have
heard of it shortly afterwards from the freebies - but not where to get
a copy. *How many other important HSCs are there which should have been
sent and , for whatever reason, just didn't get dispatched?*
*Is* the problem limited to GPs or this HSC? or does it reflect a
*general system failure*?
Anyone any ideas - or information on who to contact in the NHS
Executive? Do they have a complaints proceedure?;->>
