Was this as a result of the way in which the NHS is being run?
If so, when does the case come to court?>>
Yes.
I have applied for income top-up (locums cost me a fortune) under the NHS
injury benefit scheme. I will not be surprised if most of you have not
heard of this because it seems to be a closely guarded secret.
My GP and psyc both agree that I have an excellent case in that my illness
is clearly not just work-related but caused by work----ultimately yes it
comes down to the way the NHS is run (it is best to be a bit hazy about
that word "run" )-----but the person who is currently considering my case
appears to be looking for every possible way to reject it. Appeal about
to start. The local MP (Willie Thompson who you might have seen on C4
tonight talking to Sheena MacDonald in Omagh) says he will help any way
he can and my friends in the Doctors Support Network, some of whom have
applied, feel that it may well come to court eventually.
There are other people I would like to sue---such as two specific members
of what passes for senior NHS management around here---but I would have a
hard time proving it and I don't know if my psyche could stand the hassle.
I can go on at length about the NHS inj benefit scheme, work-related
mental illness, role of management in making doctors sick etc if anyone
wants to hear it.
Declan
PS any and all suggestions welcomed.
