I think the Cochrane or one of the other EBM sites said much the same, i.e.
= ibuprofen

Subject: Glucosamine for Arthritis
Has anyone any info on the use of glucosamine sulphate for arthritis?
I have patients who swear by it and there seems to be a fair amount of
published research in good journals - double blind trials etc. It can be
prescribed in some European countries but in the UK it has to be bought in
Health Food shops etc. It is used in a dose of 500mg tds in most papers and
has done better than Ibuprofen for OA in one trial.
After my 1st and recent exposure to this drug I have been asking around and
it seems that everyone and his dog is taking it.
