We have such a device attached to our 'phone system. It allows input from a
small CD player for music in the waiting room but cuts the music momentarily
when we call a patient. It connects to one of the spare "lines" on the
telephone box so can probably work with most existing 'phone systems.
We've been very pleased with it. It saves the receptionists a lot of time
and most patients seem happy with it although if the waiting room is noisy
some don't hear it so well in which case I stretch my legs.
If you're still looking I'll ask my Practice Manager to dig out the details.
