So, Doctor,
<dons peculiar horsehair device>
I put it to you that your story that GPs are overworked is a tissue of
lies intended to conceal your unbounded avarice, as exemplified by your
gloating over a list size greater than the average of 1900.
<hats off>
Mine is at 1861 today, but one of them is quite poorly.
<sarcasm back on>
I of course accept that you are merely pleased at the compliment to
your reputation for excellent care implied by the large number of
people joining your list, and that if the changes of 1990
over-emphasising capitated income at the expense of allowances based
upon simple presence were reversed, so that the difference in income
between a country GP with a list of 1500 and an urban GP looking after
their fair share of the population of the town of say 2000 was
abolished, you would not feel one whit less complimented and happy.
Inter alia, it is ridiculous that our HA admindroids can't track
listsizes in real time by the day rather than according to what happens
at the end of a quarter.
