<< Mid twenties lady 14 weeks pregnant now.
Too much vomiting, dehydration, ketones.
Admitted twice, last time given 4 litres of iv fluid over about 24
hours, discharged with the ketones reduced to a trace, and with some
Amoxycillin.
Tried Stemetil, Buccastem, Metoclopramide.
Scan reported as one baby, nothing else. >>
Very important to put her on Thiamine. The last Confidential Enquiry had a
good going case of encephalopathy which tragically led to the pregnant woman
dying on a psychiatric ward because of the metabolic sequelae were missed.
Thiamine is Recommended by the great Michael DeSweit at Queen Charlottes
Is she Asian or African in origin?
Avomine (can't remember the generic) is the safest in pregnancy even though I
think its sedating 25mg nocte. I have great faith in accupuncture for this
problem having previously been an agnostic.
Hope this helps
