One of the arguements for closing NHS A&E units is that they don't have
adequate hospital backup - eg neurosurgery.
Where would these private units be situated? - and could they ever be
more than Minor Injury Units?
Any ideas on what would happen to anything serious..?

PS small private hospitals transfer anyone needing intensive care to the
nearest NHS ITU; is transfer at this stage optimal management of
seriously ill patients - regardless of the financial background and
implications?
