Whilst chasing around doing visits today, I realised that one of the main
problems with General Practice, is that no-one costs the time of a GP - often
we're visiting because of 'no transport', 'son can't afford time of work',
'staff at nursing home can't be spared to bring fit patient down'. The above
confirms that GPs themselves don't value there time. We should be asking for
the reccomended BMA fee, but no doubt will be swayed by fear of someone else
being present in our place, and that they can only afford a sessional locum
fee.
