Am I being attacked?
THere are 600+ list members, of whom at a rough count there are you and
Ahmad in a nihilistic phase (al Nihil?) presenting the view that all
NHS money spent on computing should have been spent on something else...
WHere are your reinforcements, if you are on the attack?
By the way, I understand you have spent NHS money on a computer system
in your practice.
I believe this money has been wasted, and would better have been spent
on patient care.
Can you justify its presence and the continuing spending on support you
are making from what is ultimately NHS funding? Or will you junk it
next week?
This afternoon one of my patients died. Among the large number of
modifiable factors some of which contributed to his death or may have
advanced it and many of which are not realistically changeable, is one
which stands out a mile:-
a message advising a revisit was originated in the middle of Sunday,
but despatched at 0855 on Monday (practice opens and surgery starts at
0830)
It was despatched by fax.
You will recall that during the weekend I have visibly picked up my
e-mail several times, and even if I separated personal and practice
e-mail a message sent at the time of origination could have been
actioned before surgery.
Anyone opposing the provision of a network for communications in the
PCG/Co-op area should tread carefully near me for a while.
