Can you asure me that air traffic controllers are selected from blaming
types please.
9 out of 10 airplanes passed through our airspace without collision.
Goood show chaps, no need to look at the negative results.
Once upon a time pilots would get up with a hangover, kick the tyres
and take off.
Now we have near miss reporting, ATC and various other embellishments,
all expensive and all rarely preventing accidents (since logically,
with the volume of the atmosphere to play in the chances of two
aircraft coinciding must be low)
I think I prefer to fly behind a painstaking piot whose motto is check
and test, check and test, and I am aware that our fellow citizens are
increasingly aware when similar pains are not taken with their
healthcare.
Flying by the seat of the pants is no longer acceptable.
Before dwelling on achievements, measure them.
