With no evidence base whatsoever, what I do is generally
listen to the chest in such circumstances, and in most
people complaining of a cough, even though it rarely
changes what I'm going to do.
It's partly ritual isn't it, one which the patients expect,
and one which clearly confirms something in me as well.
So much of my routine GP life is sitting behind a desk
rabbitting on and prescribing stuff, it's always nice
and vaguely reassuring to get hands (or stethoscope) on,
I suppose.
Hmmm, I'm being a bit reflective this morning.
Got up early to get some work done.
Supposed to be taking this week off, but I'm going to have
to devote today to catching up on paperwork, then maybe
I can take the rest of the week off as planned.
Alton Towers! Look Out! The Hotchkies Clan are coming!
Aaarrgghhhh!
