Less, sir, less. And certainly not accessible in pharmacies - to
introduce a new controversy. You are approaching the reality when you
imply that I have reservations about the "paperless practice", too. I am
delighted to use my PC to aid prescribing, dispensing - and also, to some
extent, diagnosis. PRODIGY, however, is several steps too far.
I have noticed that most of the print-outs from paperless practices which I
receive are written by those who feel there is no restriction on space and
therefore no need to be concise - and the reams of paper/patient I get are
a bloody nuisance to my practice. It is inevitable that they must print on
one side of A4 with acres of blank paper. Get that right (the one-side is
at this stage, I assume, an impossibility to correct) and something useful
will have been achieved. Med Schools must reteach the skill of
concisiveness. (He says, rambling on!) ;->
