May I please have details of these for the LMC IT group to consider
whether the introduction of NHS Net to GPs in N&E Devon, with a code of
connection which would require the considerable number who have a
functioning connection to the internet and each other via a large
number of separate ISPs all of whom appear to routinely communicate
with each other and fix major technical problems with a typical
downtime on the order of hours, would be dangerous to GPs and patients
or if it may be possible to make the system reliable.
The ISPs I am used to send all subscribers affected by outages a
message at the earlies opportunity detailing the cause and scope of the
problem, the expected duration of outage, and the actions being taken
to repair it.
I would submit that this is a minimum level of support and politeness
by anyone running a crucial and large network.
You will want to pass that on to somebody in the IT department, I
suspect, or just e-mail it along to the FInance and IM&T director
(funny mixture, I would think either required full-time attention by
somebody who has studied that single subject intensively - Rob Little.
I don't know his e-mail address, nobody I know has been successful in
e-mailing him and getting a reply from outside the HA)
THanks very much for the info on Olanzipine. I had an interesting time
in the BMA meeting in Cardiff, from whence I e-mailed you, starting 6th
July.
